chemical peels
We are the only medical spa in Reno to carry advanced Korean chemical peels to suit a variety of skin concerns and goals. We also carry BioRePeel and The Perfect Derma Peel. Chemical peels are used to improve skin texture, even skin tone, reduce fine lines, and improve acne.
Who are chemical peels for?
Chemical peels are a non-invasive approach to skin revision and rejuvenation, offering a custom solution that caters to various skin types and concerns. Chemical peels are particularly suitable for individuals seeking to improve their skin's texture and tone and for those grappling with issues such as acne scars, active acne, age spots, fine lines, and uneven pigmentation. They are an excellent way to gently but effectively turn back the clock on the skin's appearance.
How do chemical peels work?
Chemical peels involve the application of a safe, acidic solution to exfoliate the skin. Some peels are meant to go deeper and peel more than others, but all are meant to unveil a smoother, more refined layer of skin beneath.
How many treatments will I need?
Multiple sessions are typically recommended to achieve optimal results depending on your specific goals, however, noticeable changes may be seen just one week after a single treatment and gradually improve.
What does a chemical peel include?
This treatment includes:
• Skin preparation cleanse
• Gentle gua sha scalp massage
• Selected peel that best suits your skin and goals
• Hydrating and cooling Epicutis Lipid Mask (optional add-on)
• Clinical-grade skin care application with SPF
Packages are available. "Buy now, pay later" options are available.
Are there side effects or downtime?
This varies depending on the peel.
Some of our Korean peels and BioRePeel are superficial peels and patients usually only experience some flakiness but no peeling. The skin will look a bit shiny/glowy and might be slightly pink, depending on your skin type.
With deeper peels like our Korean pigment and acne series peels, as well as The Perfect Derma Peel, you can expect to look like you have had a mild sunburn (such as redness, tenderness, and some swelling) for 24-48 hours. You should notice redness start to subside within 24-36 hours. We strongly advise you do not workout or exercise for 2-3 days after your treatment, since sweat can irritate your skin and make you itchy or even sting. Skin dryness, tightness, flakiness, or peeling will occur for about one week after treatment.
Do not peel or pick the skin – picking can result in hyperpigmentation or scarring. Peeling areas can be gently and carefully trimmed off with small, rounded aesthetic scissors but take care not to pull on the peeling skin.
